What is Dengue?

First of all let's come to the point what exactly is dengue

• It is a viral disease (pronounced as den' gee)

• It is caused by infection by any one of the four viruses

        DENV 1, DENV 2, DENV 3 or DENV 4.

How does it spread?

The dengue fever is spread by typical Mosquito bites.

• A mosquito-borne disease occurring in tropical and subtropical areas.

•  The dengue viruses are transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito.

Symptoms

• Headache
• Retro-orbital pain (severe eye pain behind eyes)
• Myalgia (muscle pain)
• Arthralgia (joint pain)
• Rash
• Hemorrhagic manifestations: Nose or gum bleed, easy bruising
